Telangana Issue

Recently I had a discussion with my friend about Telangana issue. He supported the formation of separate state. We both argued for sometime and I want to share with you guys.
First he started with the argument that if a separate state is formed there will be development in Telangana region. Telangana is rich in minerals and if "water" is used properly economy will increase. So coming to water issue, we all know that Andhra Pradesh is fighting legal battle with both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu which are its neighboring states on water issues. And this legal battle is running from many years. So if a separate state is formed a never ending war for water will start between Telangana and Andhra. Also first to build new projects state doesn't have enough money. Central Government should release more funds for this and currently Central Govt. is not is a position to provide extra funds.

Next he talked about employment issue. He says if a separate state is formed there won't be any employment problem for Telangana people as currently many jobs in Telangana are occupied by people of Andhra. All are aware of recent attacks on Indians living in Australia. Some say these are racist attacks but its wrong. Many Australian companies are recruiting Indians as they have better skills. So this created fear among Australians and also recession made them lose their nerve. So they started attacking. Now we all criticized Australians for attacking Indians. So why there are more Andhra people working in Telangana, because they are more skilled. A company always prefers skilled persons as they are very helpful for its growth. Suddenly one day it sacks all its skilled employees and replace them with some novices what will happen to the company. If a small industry takes that much precaution , how much more careful should be a State while choosing people for jobs.

My friend raised a point that Andhra people are ruling Telangana. He says since persons from other region are ruling them, their region remained undeveloped. Now consider about India. Our Prime Minister is Manmohan Singh who is from Punjab. Now should all Telugu people demand for a separate country saying that we are being ruled by a Punjabi. If everyone starts thinking on same grounds what will happen to the country. Just think. The leaders are chosen by you.If your region is not developed demand answer from your leader. You have a right to question him if he doesn't work for you.

So please don't support for formation of separate state. Formation of separate state doesn't result in development of the region. All the political parties are using students for their selfish needs. They will do anything for power. We should not just blindly follow them. Just think before you act.

  1. As rightly shown in the movie "Josh" - Political leaders are using students to attack the government . I dnt understand why the hell are students (the future of India which we say) involved in this..They are not illiterates and cant they view the situation? What will they achieve after forming a new state .They will get more seats in all good Hyd universities. But what can it result?? - Less competition among them but then how can they remain as good universities..Ofcourse this applies to everything else ..Y cnt they understand this..Being a student I am really shamed of whats happening in Hyd

  4. thnx for ur comments guys. Clearly I can't understand the stand of political parties on Telangana issue ( be it ny party...Congress, TDP etc). When Telangana congress MLAs tried to build pressure on high command n made them make a statement in support of formation of separate state what are its Andhra n Rayalaseema MLAs doing? They are now resigning, they could have started pressurizing their high command before hand itself. And coming to TDP, CBN announced that his party would support if a bill was put up in Assembly. Now the same person is saying Govt. didn't take the opinion of all people. The same person changing his stand jst in a matter of 2 days :O
Most of the political parties are using the issue for their own selfish needs n the people are failing to notice it.

  5. I totally agree. Violence cannot be justified. I thought all this violence would make a strong point against the formation of the state. Sadly the leaders don't seem to think so

  6. on ur first issue ..that is about water..normally canals are dug to supply water for crops for cultivation.the amount of land cultivated in just guntur district is more than the entire land cultivated in telangana region..Nagarjuna sagar deam is built in nalgonda district but majority of water is used for krishna and guntur district..two major rivers krishna and tungabadhra enter AP from mahbubnagar district..but the district always remains worst draught hit..Rajolibanda diversion scheme is build in mahbubnagar dist to provide water to 85000 hectares of land in district but rayalaseema leaders blasted the gates and supplied water to KC(kurnool cuddapah canal) and only remaining water if any is supplied to mahbubnagar.in telangana regions only few people cultivate a crop a year..and very rarely two crops..in some of the areas none..whereas in andhra 2crops is common...The only reason for this is water..i can give plenty of examples like this..this is how telangana region is made backward..this will not happen if seperate state is formed..not even a single project was completed in telangana in last five years..
your second issue about employment..the question is not about skilled labour..i think you wrote this post without fully aware of this issue..do you know why a seperate andhra state was formed from madras..it really started when even a job of pune was given to a tamilian..and refer to the gentleman's agreement under which telangana was merged with andhra..the employment issue is only one of the issue...there are several other reasons for demand of telangana..can you see a single education institution run in andhra region by any telangana people...any industry run by telangana person in Andhra..or any colony belonging to telangana people...The reason for this is exploitation..the seperate state helps people to do all this..you may argue that the reason for this is it is the mistake of telangana people becoz they dont have enough skills for this..but telangana at the time when it was merged, its people were not educated and skilled as andhra people..and telagana people never agreed for merging..finally it was done with the gentleman's agrrement were all the funds from telangana will be used here only..and no job will be given to other people till this region is as developed as other regions..it is not fair for you to compare this with US..there the situation is pity different ..it is fully developed and it is open for free trade now...but in case of telangana we are talking about a backward region which was not allowed to develop..dont u think that it is the duty of the govt to ensure that every region is developed..any way this issue becomes irrelevant after this many years..because now many andhra people became natives of telangana..but major issue is exploitation of natural resources and diversion of funds..
comin to your third issue..regarding manmohan singh..do u see manmohan singh showing any partiality for punjab..yes..there is fault of politicians..there were four CMs who ruled AP for 4 years..and one PM from telangana..out of them one is vengal rao..who was a native of andhra..he was the one who extended canals of nagarjuna sagar to divert water..but then ther4e were stalwarts from rayalaseema who ruled our state for nearly twenty years..then why is that region not developed...they are not asking for separate state as they dont have enough resources if they do so...The fact is that all leaders slaved for coastal andhra wealth and the previlaged few of these wealthy that control thye state politics...

i do agree that the seperate state is not going to make a very big difference but it atleast ensures better administration and minimises exploitation of resources..

andmy final question is why andhra politicians are making a hue and cry for a unified andhra...under constitution every citizen can live evrywhere and when many others are living in hyderabad right now from other states...if its only because of few acts by TRS in recent movement..then its foolishness

  7. well uday, I agree to most of ur points but development is not guaranteed by separation. Do u know how much burden Central Govt. has to bear to setup new administration? In a country like India where reaching 8% GDP is of gr8 difficulty, govt. cannot waste money just to satisfy greed of some politicians or a grp of people. And if u observe just as Central govt. decided to start process for separate T, demand for 9 new states started which is not good for India. Just study the situation in Jarkhand and think.

  8. why do you think that seperate state of T is gree of some politicians. i will give an example my uncle who is in warangal is not a trs supporter but he wants T, i asked him all the details and he has given good resons. See the sentiment of poeple here, my uncles friend who is a good advocate commited sucide on hearing the news that andhra people are agitating and that he is a good lawyer and not a supporter of TRS. even i asked to mess workers here they said they will give of their lives for telangana...and all these workers are once land owners.
I assure you I didn't see this kind of feeling in them anytime in my life from anyone
And i am sure that many people are going to sucide if center goes back in decision.
Regarding GDP how can you say India is developed by showing GDP while some people are being suffering.
I see more advantages to A region if seperated but i donno why you are agitating.

  9. resolving to "committing suicide" shows the state of their mind. I am not talking about the advantages of particular region. U r not able to understand the disadvantages completely n for ur info lands in Telangana were not occupied by Andhra ppl but people of ur own region i.e " Velama Doras". These are the people who owned thousands of acres of land in T region and treated local people as slaves. These are the people who are responsible for backwardness of ur region. Also these are none other than ur present day leaders ( MLAs or MPs..... KCR is Velama Dora).
Also if u consider per capita income of AP, Medak is in second place. most of ur districts have more per capita than Andhra or Rayalaseema region districts.
